At the moment I am having lots of fun with Foxtel IQ which we have just had installed at home. The best thing for me is the ease of recording a TV program - find it on the planner and hit the RECORD button. A bonus is that you can record 2 different shows at one time, whilst watching another. Next best thing is that you can "rewind" the TV program that is playing (to hear what was said when the kids are being too noisy or when you have to go to the loo!), and then you can watch it at a faster pace to catch up with the actual program schedule. Another thing is that I decided to record a show that I'd missed the start of and when I went to view it, the entire show had recorded - I have to test this on the movie channel next. Unfortunately I never seem to have the time to watch all the extra shows I am recording.

My creation

Have enjoyed myself playing around with some of these tools - don't know about their application for work purposes but maybe you'll see one turn up in a presentation one day. I have used Hockneyizer here which segments a photo and then randomly shuffles the separate pieces. Lots of fun! I forgot to tag it initially but somehow got back and edited the tag field. I am having trouble sending the photo from flickr to my blog. This message tells it all . ... "Sometimes web services can be a bit flaky "

Moeraki Boulders

Another attempt to upload a photo from Flickr directly to my blog - this is so easy when everything is going well but any hiccups such as the computer 'timing out' which happens heaps at home, means I am lost. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the computer is having a hissy???? Seem to have a problem with Quicktime.

Well I have been unsuccessful in uploading a photo from Flickr to my blog so instead I saved to My documents and tackled it that way. I will have another go, and failing that, will have to get some help!

Week 3
Just starting my Flickr tutorial and thought I'd type in Oamaru (the town I spent my formative years in) and see if there were any photos - couldn't believe the number of them. WOW! I'll post a photo as soon as I've learnt how to. Penguins are a huge tourist attraction in Oamaru now but when I lived there they either didn't exist or hadn't been "discovered".

Learning to Learn

Well I have finally started this program and one of my "obstacles" has been overcome - reluctance to get started . . . . leaving things to the last minute! Anyway so far so good but I'm sure the learning curve will be steep.
